Before I tell you about the wonderful experience I had having Mary Farrell as my realtor, let me give you some background information on why I chose Mary to sell my house. I lived in a partially gated community in Old Town Alexandria. I met Mary when I bought my house and I knew she was extremely knowledgeable about my particular housing development, Old Town Alexandria in general, and EYA, the developer who built my house. I stayed in my house for 14 years and I watched many neighbors come and go. I noticed that when Mary Farrell sold a house in my community it went for a fair price and it sold quickly. Neighbors who used other realtors had their houses on the market for many months, some for over a year without any success. Three houses extremely close to mine went for prices considerably under market value and they had realtors who were not Mary Farrell. I followed her advice and put my house on the market in early December (which was counter intuitive for me.) Mary did an amazing marketing job and over 20 people came to the first open house and almost 30 brokers came to the brokers open. I had three contracts on my house in the month of December and I closed on my house within two months. Not only did I have a quick sale, my house sold for a higher price than any house my size had sold in over two years. A house is a huge investment. It is not something you want a novice or a discount broker to sell. Mary Farrell has the knowledge and the experience other agents do not have.
